 Graham, wa. Lisa,
Work is not the same without George. I will never forget the first few months of working with George, he called me to the office one day and said " sit down" in his gruff voice! I sat scared and quiet wondering what the heck I did! He stared at me for a few moments and said " so I have been thinking about something lately. You never talk to me and I don't know why" I sat with a blank look on my face wondering what this crazy guy was talking about. I was so nervous it seemed like everything he was saying was in slow motion and all I could really hear was my heart beat! George then proceded to tell me I was going to sit in his office for the next hour and we where going to get to know each-other! I looked at clock and thought to myself that this was going to be the longest hour of my life! My hands where shacking, I could feel my checks turning red, and I just keep thinking what can I possibly talk to this man about for one hour, because he did tell me that we would not be talking about work! So finally I thought to myself, Lisa is a good friend of mine, I know her well, I will talk about her & I and some fun times we had when we worked together. Before I could even get the name Lisa out of my mouth, he cut me off and said " OH-No! You know enough about Lisa, You are hear to learn about me!" I sat there again with a blank look on my face! At the end of the hour he asked me if I felt better and if I was going to talk to him from now on. I smiled and said " Yes George!" knowing in the back of my head that was not going to happen anytime soon because he still scared me like crazy!!! That feeling of being scared finally left, and although George and I had an interesting relationship, I think he knew that I was just a little shy and to sensitive to get his sence of humor sometimes! And that is what I actually told him about two months ago when we had another long talk. I also told him that I had a lot of respect for him and had I not, he would not of been the first"grown-up" I opened up to about my divorce and what I had been going through. He gave me my usual tissue that day, and when he did, I knew that he finally understood me as I as well found that he couldn't hide behind that grumpy, gruff personality with me any longer! That was the last long talk I had with George, but I am glad that that is the one we ended with!
Lisa you are in my thoughts and I am always here for you.

 Puyallup, WA Lisa,
Although I never worked directly for George, I have heard many times from my brother what a great store director he was. The Albertsons family has lost a great leader. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time.

des moines, wa Lisa and Family-
George was an incredible inspiration. The last few years I spent with George as a mentor I will charish for the rest of my life. I appreciate the time he spent with our crew here at Bonney Lake, and having him come to work everyday giving his heart and soul to a career he loved meant the world to us. George- you've got the best seat in the house now, so make sure all those mariners hear you yell when they blow a play!!! I sure hope heavens set up 20/80!!!! Rest in peace.

Kent, WA I had the good fortune to work for George at Panther Lake 474. Although his reputation preceeded him, I decided to keep an open mind. Under a somewhat gruff exterior, George had a warm heart. Once he sized you up and knew you took pride in your job and did it fairly well, he trusted you to do it without micro-management. He led by example and I always felt I could go to him with a problem and he would resolve the issue fairly and without retribution. When he left Panther Lake, it was a very sad day for all of us. His laughter and smile will never be forgotten. I admire his courage and the way he kept living life on his own terms right up to the end. God bless you Lisa and all of George's family. Prayers and thoughts are with you every day.
