We Love Talking About Our Work

Char has been speaking about home funerals and green burials since 2006, when she first started making plans for A Sacred Moment. She is a wealth of information and presents her material and stories with great heart and enthusiasm. She has lectured to local, national, and international audiences, sometimes finding herself in unusual territory—such as when she was flown to San Diego to educate members of the US Navy Casualty Affairs and Funeral Honors Program.

She is a key speaker about “greener” practices to the funeral industry, lecturing at conventions of the National Funeral Director’s Association (NFDA) and the International Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Association (ICCFA). She also has spoken at the local mortuary science program at the Lake Washington Institute of Technology, and at other college and university classes. She regularly speaks to audiences of hospice clinicians, hospital chaplains, churches and spiritual communities. She has been interviewed for stories on MSNBC.com, NPR, and PBS.

Char, and other members of her staff, are ready to share about funeral trends, home funerals and green burials in whatever setting is right for you. Speaking engagements work best if you contact our office and let us know what you have in mind. You organize the event, and we will be there to inspire and inform you about home funerals, green burials, and how to join our growing community for change.

See the Events & Calendar for latest speaking engagements, or contact us for more information.
