Linda Bernheisel HammettOctober 19, 1941 - December 11, 2010
Linda Bernheisel Hammett, after a courageous, three year battle with ovarian cancer, passed away peacefully in her home on December 1, 2010. She was born in Seattle to Ivan and Margery Bernheisel on October 19, 1941. Growing up in Seattle, many hours were enjoyed with her friends at her parents' home on Lake Washington. She was a graduate of Roosevelt High School. Linda was the consummate homemaker. She loved nothing better than to make sure her home was just right for her family. After the children were raised, Linda managed her husband's State Farm office until they retired. For the last fifteen years, summers were spent cruising around the inland waters from Olympia to Desolation Sound and beyond. Linda is survived by her husband of 44 years, Kellie; brother, Lee Bernheisel of Carlton, WA; daughter Debora Mills (Greg) of Maple Valley, WA; son, Gregory Groesbeck (Cathie) of Lynnwood, WA; step-daughters, Lori Moloney (John) of Spokane, WA; Teri Wheeler (Terry) of Portland, OR; grandchildren Laura Taylor, Jamie Regis, Stephanie Ries, Chad Groesbeck, Kathleen Moloney, Brian Moloney, Jacquelyn Wheeler, Jennifer Wheeler. The family would like to especially thank the doctors and nurses at Puget Sound Surgical Center, Swedish (Edmonds) Oncology, and the Providence Hospice team for their devotion to Linda's care.
