Lonnie Dale Loy

July 27, 1966 - May 01, 2012

Always smiled when he saw the mountains...

On May 1, 2012, Lonnie Dale Loy took his final steps on this earthly journey and returned to our father’s home in Heaven.

Lonnie was born July 27, 1966 to Lorne and Lois (Smith) Loy. He resided most of his life in Rockford, IL. He was employed in the trucking industry for many years. He and his wife Vicki had recently relocated to Seattle, Washington and he was working for Ralph’s Concrete Pumping as a flatbed driver. Lonnie was enjoying his new adventure out west and always smiled when he saw the mountains. He enjoyed fishing, attending church, and spending time with his wife and two dogs Thor and Teiwaz.

Lonnie was a good man with a good heart. He always did what he could to help others less fortunate than he. He had a kind heart and kind eyes, and people always found him easy to talk to. His smiles and laughter will be fondly remembered and missed.

Lonnie is survived by his wife Vicki (Strouf) Loy, a daughter Angela (Loy) Nunez, a grandson, Cesar Nunez, his brothers; Michael, Curtis, Ronnie, and Gary, and his first wife Jill Dewey. He was preceded in death by his mother Lois (Smith) Loy, his father Lorne Loy, and his aunt Lucille Smith with whom he was very close.

A private service was held on Friday, May 4th at Cady Cremation Services in Kent, WA, where Lonnie’s body was committed back to Christ. Pastor David Anderson presided. A separate memorial service will be held in Rockford, IL. Arrangements to follow.

As we grieve the loss of Lonnie, please keep his family and friends in your heart and pray for a peace, which surpasses all understanding.

Memorial

From "The Prophet" by Kahlil Gibran

"When you are joyous look deep into your heart and you shall find, it is only that which has given you sorrow that is giving you joy.

When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight."

"For what is it to die but to stand naked in the wind and to melt into the sun?
And what is it to cease breathing, but to free the breath from its restless tides, that it may rise and expand and seek God unencumbered?
Only when you drink from the river of silence shall you indeed sing.
And when you reach the mountaintop, then you shall begin to climb.
And when the earth shall claim your limbs, then shall you truly dance."

John 14:2-4, 6

In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place I am going.

I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.
