Jack Taylor, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many, died peacefully at home on June 28, 2018 after a valiant battle with cancer.

Jack was born July 2, 1936 in Seattle to Earl and Martha (Zehner) Taylor. He was raised in Ballard along with his older brother Jerry, having no shortage of childhood adventures. He graduated from Ballard High School in 1954 and always looked forward to catching up with friends at reunions. He served in the U.S. Navy Reserves from 1953 to 1961.

Jack met Bonnie Egan in 1959, they married in 1960 and raised two children in Ballard. He was employed at Jacobsen’s Boats & Motors for over 40 years; a long time, trusted manager behind the Service desk.

While raising their children, Bonnie & Jack also raised a cabin on Lake Roesiger; literally from the ground up. Jack tested his construction skills over many years and the cabin became the source of many treasured memories with family and friends. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed several fishing trips to Alaska. There were travels to Hawaii, winter trips to Arizona, fall in New England, DC and New York; cruises in the Mediterranean, through the Panama Canal, the Caribbean and the St. Lawrence in eastern Canada.

Always a proud dad and papa, he eagerly attended more basketball and baseball games, swim and track meets, and musical performances than one could count.

Jack is survived by his much-loved wife of 58 years, Bonnie; daughter Jacquie; son Ken (Laura); and four granddaughters Samantha, Grace, Megan and Katie.

His family is grateful for the wonderful supportive care provided by Providence Hospice.
