A Sacred Moment

Thomas J. Bear Keane

August 25, 1928 - November 9, 2018

Tom attended San Jose State College, where he was a member of Chi Pi Sigma, graduating in 1952 with a degree in Police Science. In 1955 he went to work for the U.S. Treasury Department, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms retiring in 1978.

Tom proudly served in the Army in WWII and in the Korean Conflict and as an Army Reserve Captain until 1967.

In 1968 he met and married Charlotte Melcher and her three children: Don, Tara and Joanne.

After retiring from the A.T.F. the Keanes moved to Bozeman, MT where he taught at the Law Enforcement Academy from January 1979 to March 1985. They moved to Mukilteo, WA in November 1985.

Bear enjoyed his time working at the Kingdome where he made some great friends. He was there from January of 1989 to its demolition (the time it was blown up) in March 2000.

In his earlier years he was an avid skier. He immensely enjoyed going to and volunteering at Jazz Festivals around the state and in Canada.

Bear and Char spent 14 winters in Palm Springs, CA with dear friends from near and far.

He liked to say that "He lived when times were good - and he had a good time when he lived."

There will be a private Celebration of Life service early next year.
