Francis Joy Barnett-Sheets

June 19, 1976 - October 31, 2019

“Franny” was born in Weiser, Idaho, and raised in Bothell, Washington. She attended Bothell High School before continuing her schooling with a property management degree and then furthering her education in the homeland security field.

Franny lived her adult life in the Snohomish county region. She passed away unexpectedly and peacefully at her home in Startup, WA. She was only 43 years old.

Franny was an amazing woman. She was artistic and creative on so many fronts. She was a lover of nature, from the oceans to the mountains. She enjoyed reading, creative art projects, watching sci-fi movies, was a volunteer detective for missing children, loved camping, horses, dogs (especially boxers), four wheelin’ at Reiter pit, and she was a prolific writer, poet, and journal keeper. Franny had a bright inquisitive mind, an active imagination, and a great sense of humor. She loved to laugh!

Her greatest talent, however, was in her wonderful homemaking skills, from cooking, to hosting holidays, to making everybody feel welcome. She never turned away a person in need and countless times provided a safe resting place for those who entered her life. Franny had a huge, generous, loving heart.

She leaves behind her lifetime partner and husband, Michael Sheets. They were deeply connected for more than 26 years and married for over 16 years. Together they have two beautiful children who will forever miss their mother — Jesse Reese Sheets, 24 years old — Julyanna Florence Sheets, 22 years old. Franny was a devoted mother who was always there for her children … always.

Grieving family members include:
mother - Inez Finstad (partner Larry)
father - Anthony Finstad (wife Jackie)
sister - Vanessa Finstad
nephew - Anthony Lee
grandmother - Maxine Maxwell
grandmother - Jerry Ann Finstad
sister-in-law - Katrina Sheets
mother-in-law - Joann Hittle (husband Roy)
father-in-law - Howard Sheets (wife Nancy)

Plus multiple aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews with whom she grew up with and shared countless wonderful life experiences. Thank-you family!

Franny also leaves behind a vast extended family and a tight group of friends, many from her early childhood including lifelong bff’s Christy (Pabst) Thomas and Alison Frink.

Franny was raised in the Urantia Book spiritual community of the greater Seattle area. She maintained a strong belief in a higher power. Her family takes great comfort in knowing she is at peace and we will see her again - in God’s time - as the journey onward and inward continues.
