Theodore Lew Simmes

December 25, 1936 - November 27, 2021

November 27, 2021 Ted passed away after a very short battle with COVID.

Ted was born in Westfield, NY, December 25, 1936 to Ruth and George Simmes.

Ted is predeceased by his parents, his sister Barbara Banks, Grandson in law Jason Hayes and his wife Betty Marie Simmes. They were married for almost 55 years and they are together again.

Ted leaves behind his son Jeriod Wayne Simmes and partner (Patty), and his daughter Sherrie Lynn Fletcher and husband (Gary).

Ted had four grandchildren: Sarah Hayes, Rebecca Orr (James), Stephanie Barrett (Ian), and Wade Wessels. He had two step-grandchildren: Stuart Fletcher (Amanda) and Laurel Glover (Tony). Ted had 15 great-grandchildren: Ian, Jimi, Cecilia, Lucille, John, Betty, Alden, Wade, Delaney, Jack, Max, Anna, Ethan, Piper, and Adeline.

He also leaves behind his sisters Virginia Kashishian (Bill) and Jeanie Chamberlain (Jess), many nieces and nephews and cousins.  And his beloved dog Callie.

Ted spent 30 years on active duty in the U.S. Navy and retired as a Command Master Chief in 1985. He then went on to work for and retire from Boeing. Ted was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved travel and adventures and telling people about them.

FUNERAL INFORMATION

A Celebration of Life will be held December 16th at 11 AM at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 215 Mukilteo Blvd, Everett, WA 98203.

Interment will be December 17th at 11 AM at Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 SE 240th St, Kent, WA 98042.
