Kay Lynch Bowman

August 09, 1962 - March 05, 2014

Loving Wife, Mother and Lifelong Inspiration

On March 5, 2014, Kay Lynch Bowman, 51, lost her two year battle with ovarian cancer with her family by her side. Her courage and determination was an inspiration to all.

Kay was born to Gordon and Pat Lynch in Greenville, NC, moving to Greensboro, NC, before she was two years old. Kay was the youngest of four children, soft spoken but vivacious with a beautiful smile and contagious laugh and adored by her older sisters and brother. She graduated from Grimsley High School in Greensboro, NC, and attended the University of North Carolina, Wilmington, receiving her Master's Degree in Special Education from the University of North Carolina, Greensboro. She met her husband, Darwin Bowman of Brown Summit, NC, in 1991 and they married on May 7, 1994. Soon after their daughter Kailyn was born, they moved to Bothell, Washington, where they made their home and added to their family a son, Nathaniel.

Kay's passion was her family and the quality time that they had together. Kay's love of her husband and family shows in the beautiful scrapbooks of their life together. Kay was a dedicated teacher of Special Education, teaching for the past 25 years. She loved all of her students and was loved and admired by both students and the faculty she worked with.

Preceded in death by her Dad and Mom, Gordon and Pat Lynch, Kay is survived by her husband and two children and sisters, Carolyn Lynch Chandler of South Chesterfield, VA, Ann Lynch Dorner of Greensboro, NC, and brother, Gordon (Rusty) Lynch of Ashburn, VA.

Special thanks go to Dr. Charles Drescher and his assistant, Nicole, Providence Hospice of Snohomish County (especially Linda and Melissa), Pastor Dennie Carcelli, and all the wonderful neighbors, colleagues, and friends who have supported Kay and her family through this journey.
