Helen Louise Mitchell

She Will Be Missed By All Who Knew Her

Helen L. Mitchell, 90, died peacefully November 21, 2014. Her husband, Myron R. Mitchell, preceded her in death. A long-time Seattle resident before moving to Marysville, Helen was born in Anaconda, MT to Horace (McKay) and Dorotha (Bartlett) Lane.

She is survived by her daughter Dianne (Les) and son Dirk (Judi); grandchildren Bradley, Mikki and Lily; great grandchildren Madison, Kacie, Linnea, Jasper and James; Siblings Robert Lane and Barbara Vogel; many nieces and nephews.

Helen enjoyed painting on canvas and china and her affiliations with Quad-A, Gallery North and the Art Stall at Pike Place Market where her work was shown and sold. Some of her post cards are still sold at the Art Stall.

Most of Helen's schooling was in Olympia although she graduated from Roosevelt High school in Seattle. She loved sewing, cooking Chinese dinners, camping at their lot in Goldbar Nature Trails. She also loved ballroom dancing and acted as crew and dance instructors on cruise ships. She worked for Diesel Oil sales and Colonial roofing when she wasn't painting.

There will be a private service held for Helen
