A Sacred Moment

Marguerite Duggan Munger

October 14, 1922 - December 19, 2018

Marguerite Duggan Munger recently passed away at 96 years of age. During her working years, she was an executive secretary at Shell Oil. She retired in her late fifties to avoid having to move to San Francisco with Shell Oil. Marguerite successfully raised three sons as a single parent during the fifties with the help of extended family. She was able to purchase a home in Seward Park and later bought another home on Mercer Island. Peggy enjoyed travels to India, Mexico and Europe. She was a generous person who sponsored a child in Mexico for many years. She had a soft spot for animals as evidenced by her open back door welcoming neighborhood racoons. Peggy also enjoyed shopping. She displayed small souvenirs as mementos of her travels with a focus on elephants. For the last four years of her life, Peggy received skillful care at Evergreen Haven Senior Care. She was appreciated in that home as a cheerful addition to the family.
