Roger Nathan Johnson

December 25, 1953 - December 12, 2018

Beloved son, brother, uncle and friend to many.

Roger was born December 25th, 1953 in Nasik, India to Howard Johnson and Ruth Hunter Swan Johnson. He passed away peacefully in Edmonds, Washington on December 12th.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth his father Howard and sister Naomi.

Roger will be forever remembered and loved by his brother Philip (Silvia), sister Karen (Mike), and sister Mary (Arnie). Roger will be missed by his nephews Scott, Nathan and AJ and his nieces Christina, Sarah and Rachel and his many friends.

Roger was a gentle soul that marched to the beat of his own drummer. He was a generous, kind man who genuinely appreciated everyone he met and was always ready to lend a helping hand. He enjoyed coffee and good conversation. He made and maintained many friendships over coffee at Denny’s over 40 years ago. Roger checked in on a regular basis with his family and friends. He would call and enjoyed long phone conversations with so many of us. We will miss this dearly.

Roger was a licensed massage therapist, enjoyed that career path for a while but then later went on to become a landscaper/gardener. Roger loved reading books, talking philosophy, and writing. He continued his mom’s tradition of making fudge and gifting it to his family and friends over Christmas. We all looked forward to getting his fantastic fudge.

Roger had a strong faith in God that helped him through some difficult times. We appreciate his friends that checked in on him, encouraged and loved him. You also became his family.

Roger will be tremendously missed.
