Helen Forbes

December 19, 1925 - May 13, 2021

Helen was born in December 1925 and raised in Slovakia with her two brothers and sisters. Due to extenuating circumstances during WWII, she was forced to relocate from her country to Germany and later was displaced to Canada where her path crossed with George Forbes on May 13, 1951. Six months later they were married and then moved to Vermont and later Poughkeepsie, New York. She worked as an elementary school principle secretary for 38 years and then moved to Lynnwood, Washington where she enjoyed 27 years of retirement. Exactly 70 years after George and Helen met, she passed away on May 13, 2021.

Helen enjoyed many attributes of life, including gardening, horseback riding, dancing, animals (especially dogs and horses), and skiing. She was active at the senior center where she assisted teaching German class. She is survived by her husband George Forbes and her two adopted sons, Ian and Choung and her four grandchildren.

Helen was a classy, refined lady who had a zest for life which included traveling to Europe and cruising to Alaska with George her dedicated husband who continues to live unconditionally for her.


FUNERAL INFORMATION

A service will be held on 26 May 2021 @ 11:00 at St Thomas More Catholic Church 6511 176th Street, Lynnwood
