David Warren Gordon

March 23, 1955 - April 11, 2010

A Zone of Love Around Him

David Warren Gordon was my brother. He died on Sunday morning, April 11, 2010 at his home in Everett, Washington, attended by his loving wife, Mary Gordon, his sister, Karen Gordon, and his sons, Sean and Jonah.

David created a zone of love around him. He had always wanted a family of his own, and he spoke to me of the magic that surrounded his union with Mary, and the good things that seemed to magically happen for them. His sons are definitely a major part of that magic. David was so very proud of both Sean and Jonah, recognizing not only their achievements in school and the arts, but also their beautiful hearts and personalities.

David was the consummate host, always asking people’s names and welcoming them into his life, even in his last weeks, whether at the hospital, rehab center, or in his own home. He touched the lives of his co-workers at Comcast with his “song of the day”, his good humor, and his incredible work ethic. He was truly well-loved.

David was a fine guitarist, composer, artist, and comic wit. During his years at Evergreen State College in Olympia he dee jayed at the radio station, KAOS, creating the popular show, “The Possibilities are Endless”. He performed across the state in Chautauqua, and was an originating member of “The Travelling Radio Show”.

David attended Nicholas Senn High School in Chicago, Illinois (his birth town) and was heavily involved in the drama scene, both the theatrical onstage type and the political drama of the early 1970’s.

In addition to his wife, sons, and sister, David will be dearly missed by his parents, Gerald Gordon of Skokie, IL, and Joan Gordon of Minneapolis, MN. Many friends, extended family, and co-workers have been deeply affected by his passing.
