A Sacred Moment will customize a home funeral to meet the needs of your family. We will come to you, meeting where you are most comfortable; your home, a coffee shop or at A Sacred Moment's office on Capitol Hill, just east of downtown Seattle.
Given the nature of a home funeral, meeting A Sacred Moment in the home helps address practical questions. A few common questions include, where will your loved one be lying-in-honor in the home? This could be in their own bed in a bedroom, a sofa in the family room or a massage table draped with sheets and blankets in the front room. Will you keep your loved one at home overnight, one, two or three days?
Once we have an idea of what your plans are, we can determine how best to assist you. Some families prefer to care for the body; others would prefer to have A Sacred Moment care for the body. We can provide the equipment necessary to move your loved one from one area of your home to another.
A Sacred Moment helps families choose a casket for either burial or cremation that fits best for them. Although we can provide you many options for cremation and burial caskets, you may choose to purchase one through the internet or another source. The choice is yours. You may also choose to build your loved one's casket. A Sacred Moment can provide you with the dimensions and details necessary to meet crematory or cemetery requirements.
We will be beside you throughout the time your loved one is lying in honor to address any questions that may arise. A Sacred Moment can assist with Celebrant services for your Home Funeral Service, which may be a simple ritual or elaborate ceremony. When the time comes to transport your loved one to either a ceremony location other than the home, a cemetery or a crematory, A Sacred Moment can assist with transportation or simply offer guidance if you will be providing your own transportation.
